Thy Cablepark Talent and Elite Strategy 2025
Vision:
Thy Cablepark will be a hub for the development of future Danish elite wakeboarders – with strong roots in Thy’s values: community, freedom and nature.
We provide the right environment for young talent to grow – both as athletes and as people.
Goals:
To develop local athletes with the potential to perform at national and international level.
To create a culture of serious sporting development with a focus on well-being and community.
To be an active talent center under DVWF and contribute to national objectives.
Structure and framework:
Thy Cablepark undertakes to:
To have a minimum of 3 riders in DVWF’s gross squad.
To have a permanently assigned coach responsible for the common thread in training and close dialog with DVWF.
To hold a minimum of one weekly dedicated talent training session from the beginning of May to the end of September.
To organize one national competition and one national camp annually in collaboration with DVWF.
To have at least 3 active referees, one of whom is IWWF-certified, and work purposefully with referee development.
The role and responsibility of the coach:
The coach in Thy Cablepark:
- Responsible for the development of the club’s riders in the DVWF gross squad.
- Plan and organize weekly training.
- Create an annual cycle and individual development plans.
- Has ongoing sparring with DVWF.
- Ensures completion of e-learning courses from ADD and DIF.
- Commits to further education through DIF’s coach education programs.

Special elements at Thy Cablepark:
- Offseason training: physical, technical and mental development from Nov-March
- Digital development log: all riders keep a training diary
- Cross-training: joint Sunday training sessions with other clubs
- Mentoring: older elite athletes support new talent
- Sponsor support: we help cover participation fees and travel
Organization
Participation in Thy Cablepark’s Advanced team is a prerequisite for being part of the Talent Team.
To be part of the talent team, you are expected to compete in the official competitions in Denmark (Waketour and DM).
Participants for DVWF’s gross squad are selected from Thy Cablepark’s Talent Team.
Participants on the talent team will have their registration fees for the various competitions and cable time covered when visiting other parks. When driving together, expenses for gasoline/diesel/electricity are covered for competitions etc.
It costs 500 DKK to join the talent team.
Annual Wheel 2025 – Thy Cablepark Talent & Elite
- April – Kickoff camp and goal setting workshop
- May – September – Weekly talent training (1-2 times/week)
- In addition, participation in advancement teams.
- 17th and 18th. May. Gathering under DVWF.
- June 14 – Waketour 1 Thy Cablepark
- Week 25 or 26 visit to Aalborg Cablepark
- June 28 – Waketour 2 and 2.0 DM Aalborg Cablepark
- July – Summer camp DVWF gross squad (Thy Cablepark is host)
- August 15 and 16 DM Fullsize Copenhagen Cablepark
- August 15 – Waketour 3, Esbjerg Cablepark
- 15. September NM for DVWF’s gross squad Nordsjo Norway
- 15. September. Club Championship.
- October – Evaluation and appraisals
- November – March – Offseason training and video review
- December – Christmas event
- February – Preparatory trick review and technique camp
- March – Selection to gross squad and update plans
